The Apartment Part II : Layout

Now that we have gotten the keys to our apartment, it is time for some renovation. The apartment is basic - no lights, no kitchen cabinet, no aircond, no aircond piping, no fan. The only things that we got initially are the bathroom sinks and toilet bowls. So a lot of stuff needs to be done before we can actually live there comfortably.

Apart from the necessary stuff like kitchen cabinet, lighting etc we are changing a bit of the apartment layout. Not that there is anything wrong with the original layout, but we just wanted to make it more practical and comfy. The master bedroom provided is rather small and same goes to the master bathroom. Then there is the issue with the second bathroom. The person living in third bedroom will have to inconveniently walk across the hall to use it.

Now the master bedroom is bigger, has a bigger bathroom and the utility room is now turn into a walk-in closet. The shared bathroom will be conveniently located in between the two other bedrooms.

Hubby and I came up with the design ourselves. Even the contractor did not thought of to coming up with the idea. Because of that, he wanted to use our unit to promote the design to his other potential clients for two weeks. We, in turn got some good discounts on the renovation cost :-)

The renovation work has started about a few days ago and is expected to complete in a month time.
